March 12
7-11PM
at Popps Packing, 12138 St. Aubin Hamtramck
Mashed Potatoes is a free festival of idosyncratic and innovative cultural organizations happening now in detroit. Displayed in the Gallery of Popps Packing, itself an evolving artspace, Mashed Potatoes is a social event, a way to learn about what is going on around us, and an excuse to wear nametags.
While by no means a comprehensive survey, this event highlights specific initiatives that inspire, empower, challenge, and surprise us with their unique approaches to art, music, social justice, food, storytelling (just to name a few). They are collaborative and community minded, and we want to celebrate them with you.
We can all get stuck in our own corner of the world. this event provides an opportunity to find out about crazy cool cultural investigations that you didn't know about before, and to meet people face to face instead of on facebook.
